Quick Post: Suns Beat Clippers (Who Doesn’t?)

Feb-26th-2010

Our beloved Phoenix Suns beat LA! Ok, it was only the Clippers. Still, they show up on the schedule four times every year, so the Suns still need to come out and play.

Robin Lopez had 30 points and 12 boards to lead the Suns. Ever since he has been in the starting lineup, the offense has flowed better and they have been getting additional possessions by virtue of his rebounding. No offense to Frye, but when his three pointer is not going his rebounding and defense do not make up for it. This is a very good team with Lopez, Stoudemire, Nash, J-Rich and Hill. They are really starting to gel with each other and learn how to close games out.

I thought for sure the Suns were headed for another playoff-miss with their December-January performance. But since then, they have been playing well and deciding not to let the naysayers (I include myself) get the best of them. Obviously they had to pick up their game, but moving Lopez into the starting lineup is making Gentry look like a genius. The Suns should be able to carry this momentum into the playoffs, and who knows, maybe they get to the Western Conference Finals. One can wish, right?
